Bio of Council Members

Adriaan C. Grobler has been with the National Accounts division of Statistics South Africa since December 2000. He has been the Manager of the section Application of National Accounts since June 2008. Before that he was the Chief Economist and the Senior Economist within the section Application of National Accounts. He has a Town and Regional Planning degree (B.Art.et Scien (Planning)) from the University of Potchefstroom (1999) and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Economics from the University of South Africa (UNISA) (2006). His areas of expertise include the compilation of the Social Accounting Matrix (SAM), the compilation of the Tourism Satellite Account (TSA) and the compilation of various Environmental – Economic Accounts (EEAs) (water, minerals, energy, fisheries). He is also responsible for conducting on-going research in the field of National Accounts statistics.
